Hi, I'm Diane — and I test home decor so you don't have to.
For most of my adult life, our house was run for five people. Three kids, two careers, endless noise, and decor decisions made in about four seconds flat between school runs. I loved it. But when the youngest finally moved out, the house went still, and I found myself with something I hadn't had in decades: time, and a quiet home I actually wanted to get right.
I work from home now, and somewhere between the morning coffee and the afternoon lull, a habit turned into this blog. I'd always been the friend who researched everything to death before buying — so I started ordering the lamps, rugs, curtains, and viral bits of decor everyone was talking about, living with them properly, and writing down the honest truth.
Every review here follows the same routine. I order the thing with my own money. I note how long it takes to arrive and what state it shows up in. I unbox it, build it, live with it, and then I score it out of ten across five things: shipping, packaging, build quality, value, and looks. Nothing is sponsored. Nobody sends me freebies. If something's a dud, it goes back — and I tell you why.
I'm not an interior designer and I won't pretend to be. I'm just someone with a lot of patience, a good eye, and a front door that sees more parcels than is probably reasonable. If that helps you avoid a bad buy or find something you'll love, then the cardboard mountain in my hallway is doing its job.
The best way to reach me is email — I read every message. hello@thetestedhome.world
